Blame It On The Ouzo....

I had my first, and last, shot of Ouzo this weekend.

It was a wedding, there were Greeks, they were toasting with it...it seemed like a good idea. When in Rome and all.

And then, I tasted it....and it didn't seem like a good idea anymore.

You know how sane people, save all the black jelly beans in the package...and then discard them? Imagine you collected all those nasty black jelly beans and then fermented them in some liquid and saved it to drink....and then, when you swallow it, imagine it's suddenly no longer a liquid, but rather a coating...

And it sticks to your throat and makes you weep and wish you were Greek so you'd know to avoid this liquid at all costs.

Also, apparently the Ouzo makes one think dancing is a 'Swell Idea!' And, I danced, oh yes, I danced. The dancing involved a lot of awkward movements and the silver lamé from the centerpiece. It was an integral part of my routine. I am certain there are pictures...please don't let them cross my path. I'd rather pretend it didn't happen.

It was a good time. Though I hope I didn't ruin the bride's day with all that crazy dancing.

Blame it on the Ouzo.

Ah.....the Ouzo......there was a small greek restaraunt connected to a very hip club in college. it was a love hate thing with the Ouzo. i only hate now.

Ugh. Ouzo. I worked for a Greek restaurant once and attended a Christmas party at which there was drinking of homemade Ouzo from some kind of metal bottle. I remember very little except leaping from the car and ralphing on a neighbor's lawn. This was my last experience with any licorishy-flavored shit.
