I really didn't want to put a copyright thing on my site. It seemed a little....I don't know. But it's been brought to my attention I need to remind people to maybe think their own thoughts.

The Long Road Into Hell

Road To Hell

We're traveling to Indianapolis this weekend, I've mentioned the drive from Detroit to Indianapolis before.

Here are the directions copied from Mapquest:

1) Take I-94 until you reach I-69

2) Head south.

3) Drive until you kill your children, gnaw your arm off and gouge your eyeballs out.

4) Welcome to Indianapolis.

I hate this drive more than a lot of things in this world. What I hate the most is the disappointment I feel when we come up on I-69, a road that is not nearly as exciting as it's name implies, it's then that we realize we've been driving for quite a long time and really our journey into Indiana has only begun.

But we're going to celebrate a big event for my brother.

He's becoming a fireman at the age of 36. I'm pretty proud of him and pretty excited to see him get his badge on Friday night....I'm impressed he switched gears and followed his dream and as the oldest guy in the class is graduating fourth in his class.

I have a long and rambling post about how proud I am of my brother and the man he's become, but I'll save it for another time...when it's not so late and I'm not facing down a very long and very boring drive.

I plan on crying a lot Friday night, probably more than I even cry on the drive down. I only hope it's not that ugly contorted face cry I tend to do in public.

Wish me luck on all counts.

Congrats to your brother, and good luck to you!

Got any Vicodin? Vicodin and Beer makes traveling with kids much easier.

i second beerzie boy's recommendation. hell, vicodin and beer makes for a good sunday, although i like to add a bagel and a paper to the mix.

maybe you should give the kids some dimetapp before leaving? or is that child abuse? (i'm winking as a write that, i'm not really that evil)

if only dimatapp did the trick, receptionista. for your future travels with children ,remember this: dimatapp is like grape flavored speed for children. things get ugly round here when somebody gives the kids dimatapp.

what is funny is that i never shared this info wiht my stepmonster. they had sniffles, she and Pop Pop had them at thier house for two days... imagine the party.

but you know, a little benedryl ususally is a good 'stuffy nose PREVENTATIVE'. Just in case you havent done that already. also, do your kids tend to get carsick? try the dramamine. i heard that works really really really good.

have fun in that chair!

I have acquired a guarantee that the next time we all have to travel as a family, i will be able to get some GOOD rx meds from the shrink at my office. He is very understanding and can usually provide sample packs at no charge...
(seeing as how I am writing this at work... please don't let me get fired for this please don't let me get fired for this please don't let me get fired for this please don't let me get fired for this please don't let me get fired for this please don't let me get fired for this please don't let me get fired for this please don't let me get fired for this please don't let me get fired for this...)
