Best Baby Sweater Ever.
I am a slow knitter. A very, very slow knitter. I have a virtual graveyard of unfinished knitting projects in my bedroom. There's the maternity sweater I started a few months before I even started trying to get pregnant with Max. It's still not done but the days of getting pregnant are long gone. The good news is, I have a difficult time getting the correct gauge. So the sweater will fit me, though slightly loose, if I ever finish the sleeves and sew it up.
I mentioned before the baby sweater I was frantically knitting for this really cute (and I'm not just saying that) baby.
This week my friends baby turned 18, so I thought the sweater would make a great graduation gift. It might be a little small but that's cool. At least I finished it and it wasn't abandoned for the Knitting Graveyard.

That sweater is so cute! I need to learn how to knit.

Utterly in awe. It really is the cutest baby sweater ever. I have been **ATTEMPTING** to teach myself to knit, but thus far have achieved a very adorable yarn ball and lots of spectacular bruises on my legs. Knitting needles will do that when you pound them in frustration. . .

Very cool. I don't knit, but I was with a friend when she picked up this book, Stitch 'N Bitch - a knitter's handbook! I thought it was a great title. She says it's a good book, and good for beginners.

I *love* your blog.
That sweater is very cute and very stylish!
I can knit my brows--does that count?

Congratulations on finishing a beautiful baby sweater! As a knitter who procrastinates and who starts tons of projects then never finishes them, I am in awe of you. I am mighty impressed...it has buttons, and a collar, and it is not a solid color. Dang, girl! I have my baby sweater that I finished knitting, but I need to sew it all up. I hate seaming. It terrifies me. I'm afraid I'm going to mess it all up.

Gayle: Teaching yourself to knit? Dear God I would hate myself if I tried to teach myself to knit. I would be impatient with me and I'd start to think I must be retarded. Blech. Find a knitting shop and take classes, also the 2 hours of straight knitting once a week is well worth the $$$ for the class.
Leslee: The stich and bitch book is the latest in my vast collection of knitting books and patterns which I will most likely never use. Though, I did make the Kitty hat.
Jilbur: I hope you don't get pregnant too fast because since it's taken me 3 years to do just the front and back I can only estimate the sleeves will take 1.5 years...each.
Michele: You are aware I started this project in September and I finally finished my slow knitting at the end of February. (that's 5 months of knitting for those of you playing along at home).
And finally Sam: I even knit in a lazy manner! (see above!)

Hey, I don't care if that darn baby sweater took you 5 years, the fact that you finished it...you're my hero. No joke. You took the time to seam that bitch up, and that ain't easy, sister.

It may be true that you knit slowly, but you knit so well that it is worth the wait. Beautiful knitting, beautiful finishing. Cool.

I think you may have just inspired me to take a knitting class... (unfortunately the reality of that actually happening is nil - but damn - what an adorable little sweater!!!)
