Sibling News.

Logan met a few of his siblings tonight to say good bye as one of them headed back home after the holiday. He called on his way home and said:

"Booty call for Liss."

Seriously, I love that.

Also, my sister? She has a band? And on her website they have paper dolls? And you should go see them because who knew my sister had the most 'back' of all her band mates.

Between you and me, Ike-ette is my favorite.

In other sibling news, my brother had to work for Christmas Eve. But even worse than working Christmas as a firefighter was telling my mother he wasn't coming up for the holiday.

In the email from his wife, whom I love in a deep and binding way: "Your brother, 'Run into a burning building? SURE!' however, 'Tell my mom I'm not coming home for Christmas? Uhm.......' "

Needless to say, I love my family but family just isn't the same without my brother and his wife.

Look I can't keep talking to you, my booty call is arriving soon.

My sister is a firefighter and had to work the last 2 Christmases. Just to be ugly several of the guys coming in to relieve her the day after called in sick (sick of paying full price and wanting to go to the big sales with their wives). She got stuck working 48 hrs. and not seeing any family before they had to head home. Several members of the family have pledged to head to the firehouse and rough these guys up...as soon as they have gained 50 pounds, grown 6 inches and can bench press a small car.

My hubby is a fireman/EMT, and my dad is a police officer, so I know the pain of working the holiday!! However, my dad lucked out, his department pays triple time for guys who work Xmas day, so he always volunteers to work at least 12 hours. I mean, it's triple time for a guy who has been on the force 20 years, and makes a nice salary anyway. That's understandable!

Seriously. As my Not-Boyfriend said, "Teri, you're not built like a white girl!" I'm the librarian with the big ass. I am deeply proud of it, too. Personally, tho, my favorite is the She-Hulk. And as if the dolls weren't enough, the band's music is good too. Lis, you would know that if you ever SHOWED UP TO ANY OF MY SHOWS. Ahem. Got that out of the way.

Happy between the days to Melissa and to sexy L'il Sis, whom I have been crushing on ever since seeing the wedding pics. I like vampira and zombie best. Perhaps I shall ask my own SOSO* to dress up likewise. She's into that kind of thing.

The brother sounds like an awesome guy, too. And isn't it interesting how courage comes in different flavors... (spoken by a boy whose mamma loves him a whale of a lot, especially on holidays).

*"sort of signicant other", perhaps equivalent to Non-Girlfriend. I used to go out with someone whom I referred to (not in her presence) as Jane-not-my-girlfriend. Right up until my pal Marko met her and said, "Hey! So you're Jane-not-Phil's-girlfriend!" She took it well. Then we dated. Then broke up. Then she dated someone else. Then she cheated on him. Then she married the guy with whom she was cheating. Now they have a really nice kid. And see how you really need to be careful with what you call people? To quote Wayne Campbell, (translating from the Chinese), "Was it Kierkegaard or Dick Van Patten who said, 'If you label me, you negate me'?"

Working Christmas sucks. My other half worked Christmas Day, Boxing Day, then the 27th and 28th. He's in IT - so not even as glamourous as a firey :)
