Apple Is Going To Be My Bitch.
Un fucking real. My laptop just died for the FOURTH time.
At least I've had it for a month and a half working. Last time it died was October 29th.
I mean, really, how selfish of me to expect an 18 month old computer to work for more than one to two months at a time.
I'm collecting all my numbers and dates and tips and then I'm calling Apple and someone is going to be squealing like a pig by the time I'm finished.
**Don't even remind me how the iPod froze up last week. Apple. I love you, why are you treating me like this?
UPDATE! I just got off the phone with Apple.
Apple isn't my bitch, we're more like a team and they're upset like me about what I've been through! They're taking care of me and Steve Jobs even said he'll baby sit this weekend. That's how badly they want me to be happy!
I love you Apple.
Now, PLEASE MY GOD PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE LET THERE BE A WAY TO GET ALL MY DATA OFF MY COMPUTER HOLY JESUS. Writing, six months of pictures, TEXT TWIST! Gone! Gone! Cover letters! Resumes! No this can not happen.
I know I don't know you....but I really feel bad for you...That SO fuckin' sucks. Give them hell, maybe they will send you a new one! Would you like all of your daily readers to send boycott mail on your behalf?
Good Luck,
Stillheidi

There are companies out there who will rescue the data on your hard drive. But it costs. Your local Apple store may be able to help. If it isn't complete and utter HD failure, pulling it out of your laptop and hooking it up to a desktop should enable you to burn all the stuff you want to keep. Or at least it would, if it was a pc - I don't know much about apple hardware anymore.

did you know they recalled a bunch of ibook's logicboards (the same thing as motherboards). my ibook has the same problem- i'm waiting to get it back from the computer doctor, but i think it MUST be on the list of recalls, being that it's 18 months old and the motherboard has failed.

I had to take my laptop to the Apple Store today. I whimpered as I left it there. I hope it can be fixed, quickly. I really don't want to buy a new one.

Aaaaaaaaack, you poor thing. My desktop computer has been dead for well over a month, now, but it's a non-Mac and I figure I deserved it.
Here's to a continuously running machine very soon in your future.

I hope they are replacing it. My iBook is on its second logic board since I bought it in May of 2003. I've heard that Apple will replace them if it happens more than 3 times. I hope that is the deal they made with you.
BTW, Steve Jobs is a horrible babysitter. Don't even get me started on that...

Maybe you'll get a new one from this.You should.lol

I heart Apple. When my PowerBook's CD drive was acting up, they put a new one in it for me. I know you're addicted to Text Twist, but have you tried Swap? I'd rather play that than have sex. Well, sometimes, anyway.

Well, I think perhaps I'll rule out Apple when I go laptop shopping. I'm sorry you're having so much trouble! My fingers are crossed you get all your stuff off of it. I hope there's no limit on that babysitting!

Aw, don't rule out Apple. They just had a spate of iBook troubles, but trust me, a guy on the internets you've never met: You have a problem, they'll take care of you. Apple love you long time.

that ibook logic board is a beeyatch. my ibook died several times and they "fixed" it, until slowly they realized that it was indeed the logic board and replaced it -- haven't had a problem since.
will it boot at all?

Sweetney: I can hear it starting (the little whistle it does...I had it on mute when it died so I can't hear the chime). So I assume I'll be able to attach to it using a fire wire cord. I'll go to Logan's office this weekend since this machine as I've said, has a constitutional amendment banning all new technology....like, 'USB Ports'.
And I promise to give you all an update about my conversation with my service specialist and my story will renew your faith in Apple. I promise.
EVERY company has some products with parts failures. They tried to fix mine, couldn't and now they're doing the right thing and making it right for me.

I knew Apple would do whatever they had to in order to keep you. They heard what you did to the MOMS club and were scared.

I really loved it when Steve Jobs babysat for us. He does it for everyone who owns three Macs. He taught the kids some really cool things with iMovies (they later entered it in Sundance). He also got Mason to take a bath with no problem, and put Linley to sleep with some very animated story about pink iPods. I was so happy, until the next day. That bastard drank all the beer in the downstairs fridge. Guess no one is perfect.
