I really didn't want to put a copyright thing on my site. It seemed a little....I don't know. But it's been brought to my attention I need to remind people to maybe think their own thoughts.

Baby Shopping.

Our adorable friends John and Asa are pregnant. Pregnant people like to shop for their unborn children (a little girl! Squeal!) and I LOVE to shop only I can't anymore since I'm living within my means now.

So Asa has been shopping. Also she's been posing with Mr Clean.

She's found flatware and wall art which makes me drool.

She found this stylish alternative to the totally gaybo (I got this awesome term from Jen) bouncy seat.

I love this set and this makes me want to sprout children from my uterus so we can give this to them.

I know breast is best! Seriously! Breastfeeding RULES! Don't think that by showing you this really cool bottle I'm saying formula isn't poison. Formula is deadly but if you ever want to look at a bottle, this one is really clever to look at.

Finally, I hope if you're having a baby you'll remember the FOUR LONG YEARS my son spent as a slave to his oral fixation. If you're willing to live with that, I hope you choose these stylish binkies for your wee one.

Asa hasn't even hit the 'nesting' phase of pregnancy yet. Let's all hope there's more shopping to do vicariously.

Your friend might check out this site for links to some online stores that sell some cool kid's items:

Asians (regardless of being born and/or raised in Asia) have a stylish gene that I will envy until the day I die!

Maia

I KNOW you and Pants will find something totally creative and handmade to give the baby when she comes. The best gifts are the handmade ones :) (Unless they are really butt ugly of course..)

Phil

While I appreciate Sarah's comment about the presumed Asian style gene, may I be the first to painfully disagree. I have often thought that the majority of Chinese in my academic part of the world (Durham/ChapelHill/Raleigh NC) went to a special class on how to dress really really badly. Filipinos (over age 25) in NC and in much of California are also horrid dressers. Indonesians in the US are a too-small sample space, but I have yet to be impressed. All of which is to say, as a 1/8th Chinese Filipino-Indonesian living in NC, I feel like I have *no chance* of ever being seriously stylish. Damn.

The Japanese, on the other hand, are a completely differnet breed. If I were Japanese, female, and 25 -- I suspect I'd be seriously hot.

Oh and Melissa -- the Mono set from Babygeared does, indeed, completely kick ass. Even my non-stylish self knows that it's true. Thanks for sharing! And also cool -- designs like that might be readily CafePressed if you came up with a few of your own. Hint hint.

o. my. god. that bottle!! hee.

I seriously think you're on to something with the cool baby gear making you want to have more babies. I just packed my babe's "little" clothes away. of course, seeing all those itty wee cute garments, I found myself in my mind stupidly breezing past the hell that was 2 days of natural labor and musing, "oh, it wasn't so bad...maybe we could have another?" (shoot me, NOW!!)

damn you!now I totally want to develop and write a thesis on the correlation between good marketing and baby booms. and I'm not even in school!

PS

will you guys please make a momtini bumper sticker or "magnetic" whatever-the-hell-you call-those-ones that go in your car's rear window without a lot of stickum. in your Cafe Press shop. because I want to drive around with it on my car and god knows you need more exposure! please.

Heatheranne

Why didn't they have a bottle like that when my son was a baby?

Toryssa

I love buying baby stuff, probably because I only have the Boy, I have always thought baby girl clothes were SO MUCH CUTER than baby boy clothes! onelittlemonkey.com has some so so lovely girl items.

Miss Weeze

You make my ovaries hurt.

JT

OMG, I so need those Blik racecar tracks. And the clouds with the airplane.

For the kids. No, really. I mean it.

MamaKaren

I so totally love looking at baby things with the intent of other people using them. It is so much fun to peruse/buy the uber-cute things knowing that I will never, ever, ever have to use them again. Lovely bottle? Yeah, but I won't see the 2:00 a.m. feeding. Binkies and teething rings? Love 'em. And those itty bitty clothes with the snaps at the shoulders to make them easy to put on? Wonderful and adorable beyond belief. But I still thank God/Allah/Vishnu/the Sun and Moon that my kids can sit up to get dressed (and two of them don't even need me to put their shirts on them!)

tracy

Oh my God, the bottle. So cute. Maybe I can buy one now for my potential grandchild? Which won't come for at least 20 years, knock on wood?

WannaBeMom

Okay, since we don't even have sperm yet this is a bit premature, but can you please please please both come and help us do shopping for these totally fantastic baby supplies and gear when we finally hit the jackpot?

Erin H.

I second the motion for a momtini sticker that goes in the car window. I also third it, fourth it, and fifth it.

I need to win the lottery. Living within means is not easy for one who obsessively shops. My new passion is cloth diapers and I cannot stop spending money on brightly-colored cute things that just get shit on, anyway. My husband is ready to kill me. Eh, on the "plus" side I will soon be working 70 hours per week between two jobs. The means may expand, yet!

I wanted to put a small plug here for my modern links page because I have a little selection of kids links you all may enjoy: http://www.ux1.eiu.edu/~cfcek2/text/modernlinks.html#kids

Also be sure to visit daddytypes.com for the latest and greatest in baby stuff. There are a lot of baby gear sites out there, but this one edits it down nicely.

Also, I wore my momtini shirt at the grocery store yesterday morning and got a very disapproving look from the old checkout lady. SCORE!!

emily

I love that bottle. Not enough to have another kid...I'll just wait until my very fertile SIL has another.

Gen

Also, it's ***perfectly OK*** to pump breastmilk and put the milk into the bottle...

Mir

A $90 dish set for a kid? *faints*

Maybe it's because I no longer have a uterus that all I could see was the pricetag....
