The 13 hour playdate.
Yesterday we attended a playdate at Leslie's house.
It started at 11:30 and it began with me stating, "I am going to be a gutter drunk by the end of this stupid summer."
And I am because these children are making me insane and it's only day 4 of summer vacation.
It ended at the brewery at around 12:00am-ish with Leslie and Andrea. I think. But I'm not sure. I walked home so don't worry.
There was some sort of game on the tv and it seemed like everyone was there to watch it....Andrea and Leslie and I were there to drink and gossip and talk and I hope I didn't admit to them my secret desire to be a cheerleader. Oops.
I am currently so sick, I don't think I can rise from this couch without an IV of fluids and an intravenous shot of B-complex vitamins.
Remind me not to do this to myself anymore. (Ha!)
At some point in the night I lost the lens cap on my new baby. Any idea where I can order a new one?
I hate that feeling. Definitely take lots of B vitamins. And drink green tea. And eat cheeseburgers. Oh and chocolate milk.

Okay, so that was a rear cap. but they have lots of front lens caps on Ebay too. I'm just retarded.

I was always misplacing the lens cap so I finally found one with a "leash" so it stays attached to the camera. Kind of like a kid leash. Check at a local camera shop.

Trust me, the answer is salsa - the hotter the better!

Speaking from personal experience, if you keep Pedialyte in the house for your kids, drink a big glass. Gatorade will work in a pinch, but trust me on the Pedialyte. It has helped me scrape myself off the couch many a Sunday.

So do we have photographic evidence of this 13-hour playdate? We know you had the camera so cough 'em up.

Take "Chasers" the next time you drink. (You can buy them about anywhere.) I swear by them.
You seriously should buy a UV filter for your lens. They're really cheap and they're really not useful for anything other than a lens protecter. I bought one for my camera and I'm so glad I did because my husband bumped it against something and scratched the filter instead of the lens. The filters are a lot cheaper to replace than a lens. I think the UV filters are about $14.

I've heard the same thing about Pedialyte. Chug it.

Bacon and eggs always helps me when hung over. Grease is the answer. To ANY QUESTION you have!

double whopper with cheese my friend.
in a dirty ashtray.

I can't complain about the way I feel right now or Mark would never let me go out again. So, I'm sucking it up and spending the day preparing for tomorrow's garage sale (in the 95 degree heat.) Whose bright idea was that anyway?!?
Oh, and poor Jason!

Drop an Alka-Seltzer Plus into a bottle of Gatorade (or Pedialyte) and CHUG.
Never fails.

No magical cures - if you find one, let me know because I've a feeling I'll be needing it soon (like tomorrow).
Maybe if you could convince the kids to get jobs they wouldn't bug you so much - - I keep trying with Princess & Gameboy but they have no marketable skills whatsoever. Your kids probobly do because they're 1/2 robot.
Feel better soon!

I think I now love you! I was feeling the same Sunday morning. I can safely say that a trip to an amusement park is *not* the cure.

One time ("at band camp"), my best friend had taken in too much booze and was feeling it, so I suggested an Alka Seltzer (you remember, the "plop plop fizz fizz" commercials were still in recent memory). He took it, promptly threw up, then felt much better.

Thank you thank you thank you. It's incredibly reassuring to know I'm not the only one who still has all night lapses of sanity when paired with alcohol. In the sense that my single friends all still do so, but I am the "boring mommy" now.
Drink on, my sister.

Yes! Green tea! The cure for anything that ails you.
And I also second the leash for the lens cap. I lose anything that's not attached.

I get all my camera gear- including replacement lens caps- I always have a spare or three in the drawer because they run away when I'm not looking-at bhphoto.com great prices and fast efficient service. If you are ever in NYC it is an amazing place to see in action. I have been shopping there since it was a tiny store in a tiny (different)location, and I was in college.
Speaking of college, my favorite cure was deep dish pizza and buffalo wings, but I am thinking that is a cure for the very young, or maybe just those with iron stomaches.

I'm sure you're feeling better by now (or, maybe not, I've had 2-day hangovers before), but McDonald's cheeseburger, fries, and iced tea always work for me. Grease, more grease, and caffeine: God's medicine.

Great advice for hangovers... Where were you guys in high school?!! Many a Sunday morning I thought I was dying, hell, all I needed was a cheeseburger!
But seriously, good for you for getting out and having a good time with your friends.

Phil: I swear to god, my best friend in college tried to coerce me to take Alka Seltzer one night by explaining, "you take it, then you throw up, but you feel much better." Were you at band camp with my best friend?

I, too, completely recommend B&H. They're awesome. A little brusque on the phone, but they've got great gear.

Oh, so you're *that* mamaloo that my band buddy kept talking about!
And Melissa -- I endorse the uV filter and replacement lens caps (without going for the sticky tether route. Very tacky. Will reduce the aesthetic value of all your shots just because.)

This one time? in college? I was hungover, so I drank some Alka-Seltzer and then a diet coke, and promptly threw up a brown coke-n-seltzer foam all over myself, but I felt much better afterward. Now I drink Gatorade and avoid throwing up as much as possible.

Online, I like buying camera stuff from 17 street photo at www.17photo.com. 17 Street usually has good prices on lenses and camera parts. I have a canon EOS Rebel Ti and I can't wait till I can afford the 420ex flash for it.
I also do a lot of shopping at www.bhphotovideo.com/. They have great prices on bags, lenses, and other stuff that I like to spend money on.
One thing I got for my rebel that I really love is the battery converter pack. It is a grip pack that goes on the bottom of your camera nd adds another shutter button that makes taking vertical pictures a lot easier. It also lets you use AA bateries instead of lithium batteries which can save you a lot of money in the long run.
Hi, I'm C and I am a camera geek
Oh and for hangovers I usually keep some bananas around the house with vitamin B supplements. A soy chai latte also makes me feel a lot more like a human being than I really deserve after a good night out. That and eight gallons of water.
