This is not a bad omen. This is not a bad omen. This is not a bad omen.
I have never missed a flight in my entire life. Though, I was tempting fate asking for "the earliest flight" into the city. One man's early is another man's bedtime I suppose.
I am stuck at the airport from now 6:30 until my flight leaves at 11am. The last time I was awake at this hour I was offering my raw nipple to a screaming newborn. Somehow that makes being stuck at the airport a little more palatable. Motherhood really is a gift.
I wanted to let you know that the producer said the segment will 'likely, but not definitely' air in the 8 o'clock hour.
I also wanted to let you know that I've set up my cameraphone for flickr and I will be sending along things I see....like Charlize Theron....to Flickr. I will also be loading pictures of my plane ticket and my watch because I am already bored and I've been sitting here for 10 minutes.
This morning Logan shoveled the driveway and sidewalk and warmed up the car while I tried to leave on time at 4:30 (in the morning!!!!) and when I left he gave me a hug and said, "I so wish I was coming with you. I would love to be in that city with you."
And I said, "You just want to make sure I don't use that Lohan joke."
PS: I wish he was with me.
Good Morning from Chilly Toronto - where only the airport staff are asses. (Generally). I've been up with baby number two since 5 am - good times. I too agree that it would be more fun to be in an airport where at least you are only responsible for yourself. Break a leg Melissa - enjoy your hotel stay by YOURSELF! Congratulations on the Today show - way to live your life like it's not a dress rehersal!

If you see Rosie, you should do a leg sweep and take her out! At least that will give her some View fodder.

I just freaked out and sucked in way too much air thinking I missed it...then realized today is Thursday.
Geez. Who put me in charge of 4 kids, a husband, a cat, a dog and a fish...I can't even keep the days straight anymore.
And I was even watching The Today Show this morning as usual, so how could I have missed it anyway.
God, I so need a drink. Anyone for a playgroup?
Good luck Melissa! Can't wait to see you!

Going in to work late today just so I could watch you on Today. You did great. It was obvious that you were a little nervous, especially at the very start when they turned the camera on you.
I thought you made your point and made it well. And your defended yourself well when they threw the babysitting question at you.
I snickered at the end when Meredith thanked you for being there and you did the chin-tuck-look-away move. It just screamed, "Yeah, for all the good it did!"

I just watched the show and YOU DID GREAT! What I kept thinking when the other guest was talking was, "So do you also frown up family meals and gatherings where the adults drink wine?" Melissa, you were so right in saying this is just another way for women to criticize each other for not being perfect. Translation: not doing it the way the criticizer would do it.
So shouldn't these people also be going after beer at backyard Bar-b-que's. Because alcohol and an open flame makes so much sense. Save little Johnny from dads in aprons everywhere.

Cute boots! (Actually, your whole outfit was cute, especially your necklace. Good choices.)
I just wanted to take that psychiatrist they had on with you and pinch her head off. It seemed obvious to me she was the type who basically thinks that no one, anywhere, at any time, should be drinking anything at all. Foo on that. People who can't distinguish between *responsible* drinking and irresponsible drinking probably have an issue with it themselves.
