I actually wore jeans to the beach last summer.

I bought a bathing suit today. A bathing suit I intend to wear in public.

Yes! Excellent! I wore a bathing suit for the first time in at least four years in Maui over Christmas and it was scary, but the boogie boarding more than made up for it. I was so damned happy to just be in the water under the sun again! It was a little slice of heaven.

I bought a tankini so I didn't feel like my jello, cottage cheese thighs were completely on display. Helped me immensely!

I also have about 80 pounds on you, so calm down, skinny girl. You'll be fine!!!

I went through every suit in Macy's before realizing that the perfect suit was the one designed for the woman of the late 1950s and early 1960s. Sometimes I wish I could go shopping back in time, when women were encouraged to have hips and bottoms. We all have the potential to look like pin-ups. I hope you had luck with yours!

I'm having a harder time finding jeans that look good than bathing suits. After all, suits are just begging for cover ups. I don't think I should wear my cover-up over the new denims, however.
Had my seven year old son laughing so hard he wet his pats when trying on jeans the other day...he also learned the phrase muffin top that day.
The Spring/Summer issue of the Athleta catalog seems to have some pretty decent suits with built in cleavage boosts and flattering skirt like cover ups to match. Just a thought.
