Best Gift Packaging Ever.
My brother and sister in law sent Max a gift in the mail and I thought I'd share it with you because it was such a cool idea and made such an impression on my kids. It was perfect.
It arrived in a mailing tube and when he opened it he saw it was absolutely full of candy. It was full of so much candy we had to keep grabbing bowls to fill with it. In the end we had four bowls full of candy and as we filled each one Max kept laughing hysterically.
It was probably the most candy he's ever seen in one place before.
Also inside the mailing tube were a few Hot Wheels cars and a gift card to Target. My kids love getting gift cards for their birthdays because they enjoy helping to fortify the economy. Also, they like collecting stuff. Lots of things with lots of pieces and they're always looking for a very specific piece of this stuff usually right around bedtime.
Honestly though I could have pocketed the gift card for myself and he'd still be just as thrilled with ALL THE CANDY IN THE WORLD.

That's the best idea I've ever seen! I'm totally stealing it.

I love it. A while back I was out with my littler kiddo and she was doing what shoe loves best, i.e. stomping in puddles. A couple walked by us, silver haired and distinguished. The gentleman said as he passed "Fancy that-a child having fun. We don't see that much anymore."
Copious amounts of candy tumbling from a tube sounds like puddle stomping to me-pure, innocent, fun:)

Awesome! (Do people still say "awesome" any more? I feel so late 80's/early 90's)
I'm trying to figure out who to send this too now. I'm niece-less and nephew-less still, waa. Maybe I'll just mail it to my own kids on a good day.

Genius! I love that idea and will definitely steal it! I think even my "executive" friends who are grown men would get a kick out of it.

Just replace the "candy" with Cadbury Cream Eggs and I'm ALL OVER IT. But the idea of an everflowing fountain of candy coming out of a tube makes me giggle, too. Very Willy Wonka!

What a fantastic idea! Is this your sister in law with the great home decor too? She's just too creative. I'm so stealing this.

I love this too. Sooo creative. But what do people think of the wrapped vs. unwrapped candies? Myself I prefer it when they're wrapped... but maybe it's just me?

I LOVE THIS.
My niece and nephews are too little to appreciate this so I will be sending their moms tubes filled with chocolates and Starbucks cards. Because with babies you get no sleep and need more caffeine to keep going!!
Maybe I will send one to myself too!!

Oh, I want the mom version with the Sbucks card! How on earth can I put that on a wishlist?

I WILL be stealing without attribution--my nieces and nephews will think I'm a genius! Thanks.

Last Halloween my Dad sent my kids a huge box. In it was this pumpkin with a funny hat and goofy face painted on it. He used bags of cookies and chips and candy, TONS of stuff that they rarely get from me, as packing material. The kids were very impressed. And the pumpkin arrived in one piece (it was very well packed). In fact, we still have ol' Jack.
Anyway, very clever idea.

Brilliant. Stealing this idea will secure my "cool aunt" status.

Great idea!
Also, instead of candy you could fill it with Legos.
