Good point.
Me: "I know I keep saying this, but I feel so lucky to be living here."
Him: "Don't say lucky. Say fortunate."
Me: "What's the difference?"
Him: "Lucky implies we just sort of fell into this great place in our lives. We worked our asses off. We're fortunate not lucky."

That really is SUCH a great point, and an important distinction... it's so great that after all this time living in your "new" place that you are still feeling this way, and that you aren't taking anything for granted. You are exactly where you're supposed to be... I love it when that happens!

Your husband is wise.

I second that...it's a great point. You don't get somethin' for nothin' (unless we're talking about the lottery...)

Wow, I've never thought about it that way. Wait, I can't say that I have felt lucky for a long time, fortunate yes but not lucky. A spouse's terminal illness will do that to you.

Truth.
I feel totally the same way. I know we've had our share of breaks, but also, we have WORKED IT.
