Summer Photo Essay
Tonight I collected all my favorite summer pictures for the last, I don't know, three years?
I think love summer because winter is so horrible here.
Also? I need to fix my layout so this cool slideshow looks nice. But tonight? I'm not doing it. You can't make me.

These are awesome. My favorite is your expression on the bee amusement park ride.

I was just coming here to post the same thing! The juxtaposition of the joyful bee and your expression is hysterical (but only because I was not on the ride also. You have my total sympathy on that one!)

What a fantastic idea. These are so great! The one of you on the bee ride was classic. One the whole the entire set has all the best things about Summer, with none of the sweating.

Love it. This is kicking my butt into gear to get the hanging candles and patio furniture out. I hear you about the horrible Winters, now we're into the season of daytime humidity and nighttime storms!

You really have a gift - the light in these photos just perfectly captures the aura of summertime. If a publisher hasn't contacted you about a coffee table book, someone should.

This is totally kicking my butt to take more pictures. Thanks.

Wow! What kind of camera do you use to take these gorgeous pictures? The swimming one especially...mine would be a giant wet blur.

Don't knock the Miller High Life. Miller High Life is the champagne of beers! I love it in bottles during the summer. Love the bee photo.

Mmmmm... I love delayed photos. Not only are your pics great, the fact that you say they are from the last three years makes me feel a little less guilty about not organizing my own.

My favorite is the last one. Max's face captures the magic of a happy childhood.
I've been reading your blog for awhile now, but I don't think I've ever commented. I appreciate your honesty about the trials of parenting two kids - and keeping a marriage vibrant. You are a "real" woman, warts and all, and I always get a lift reading your posts. :)

The bee one is making me cry with laughter!
When I move, I might have to enlarge a bunch of these & frame them for my walls. Gonna miss you guys.

Fantastic!! I saw on Flickr shots you use a Canon Rebel---do you use a special filter, lens or setting?

Wow - amazing pictures, you have a great eye for capturing the right moment, angle, etc.

Ok, the photo of you on the Bumblebee ride is PRICELESS. :)

These could be part of those "Pure Michigan" ads!

Your photos are inspiring. They remind me to take more photos.

I love the colours in these photos. I especially love the bicycle basket and the sand toys. Nothing beats the joy of summer colours.

Wow. Lovely.

OMG, the "Ahhhhh" picture made me laugh out loud.
I love you photographic eye. I am now inspired to try to take good pictures instead of throwing all my new clothes on my bed and calling it abstract.

Melissa, those pictures are incredible.
If I buy the camera, can you sell some of your talent?
