Hank and Esme
This year our Blogher festivities included Antonia from Whoopee. She is from London and on Sunday Antonia's husband Ian flew in with their little girl Esme to join her for an extended holiday in the states.
We all met up for breakfast and Hank and Esme hit it off being so ridiculously cute and toddler-like I suddenly forgot I hate baby-hood and enjoy this part of my life as a parent a lot more. Since then I have had a dream each night I'm pregnant and happy about it.
Thanks a lot Hank and Esme.
The babies sat next to each other sharing toys and bits of toast. They also talked to each other and babbled back and forth. But sometimes it seems they had trouble understanding one another.
"I can't understand your accent..."
When the the little ones got out of their chairs they toddled around the table and gave each other hugs and kisses I died. I'm dead right now. I hope they're happy.
Update: Oh My God. They brought me back to life just to do this to me.

Of course they're happy. They did it on purpose. Your ovaries put them up to it. Beware!

Those cheeks! Those baby cheeks! Those little mouths (before they can yell the word "No!")...I may have to put my head on my desk and weep from the adorableness.

The CHEEKS in that picture!

Gosh, they're adorable. I hate it how babies and toddlers can just turn you into a wanting pile of mush - and I don't even have kids yet! Once I start, I'll never be able to stop, I'm sure.
Oh, by the way: hi. I'm a first time commenter, I think. I've been reading for a long time, though. Heh. De-lurking, just because. =)

Ohhhh I think I want to just eat them up with a SPOON (do they have this expression over in the UK? If not, and Antonia reads this and freaks, please assure her I have no tendencies toward cannibalism. They're just TOO CUTE!!!).
I love that age. In fact, I loved that age WAY more than infanthood. They're old enough to start saying and doing really cute stuff, and young enough to not argue with you about going places or what to eat or whatever. Just lookatthosecheeksohmygodthey'resoYUMMY.
Ok. I'm better now.

Can I ask a dumb question? How did the parent's pronounce "Esme"? I love the name, but in my head it is always Es-me, though the internet later told me it is "Ez-may". Real world application?

What a sweet pair! The baby kisses picture made me "Awww.." out loud. Those little cheeks are so adorable!

I have a picture just like that of my daughter and a friend when they were 3. They moved away and when they came back when he was 8 he had a total freakout--I had to take it off the fridge and hide it. I'll have to see what he thinks of it now that they're 13.

Dear Lord, that is precious. I totally force my daughter to kiss my friend's kid just because it is so freaking cute. She's 4 and I'm training her to be a slut- I guess I should stop. That picture is so cute though. Love it!

Accent or no, looks like they share the universal language of Cute. Awwww.
BTW, that's the cheeziest comment I've posted in my life.

My kids (he's 3 and she's 1) have recently starting giving each other pounds -- the fist tapping kind. I gotta get a photo now.

My son is at the age where the little girls have it all over him in the speech category. He can understand but can’t reciprocate yet. But when he gets out of the high chair, look out…he’s full of hugs and kisses. Adorable!
