A very special Christmas treat.
Oh economy you're ruining my holiday. There were layoffs at Logan's job last week. I thought his job was immune to the automotive turmoil. Oh and we're waiting on payment from one of Logan's freelance clients who appears to have fallen off the face of the planet. Probably lost their business because of the automotive industry turmoil and the fact that no one has any money to spend around here.
Awesome.
So yes, I'm frustrated with December in general. And shopping for Christmas specifically.
I wonder if the kids would care if we had a Little House On The Prairie style Christmas with sugar sticks from Mankato.
It's almost as good as a Laptop, cellphone, trip to Texas, Paris and Chicago, and a puppy. In fact they're almost exactly the same.
I'm certain I can convince Maddie of this. Maybe if I throw in a rag doll named Charlotte.
I am sorry to hear that all of this turmoil is affecting you... I am afraid that there are more poeple it is affecting this christmas than not...

I will offer up my dog for Maddie. She stinks, but she is free. And chances are after a week with her, Maddie will realize she doesn't even want one anymore.

if you can deal with the puppy, you can often find people giving them away on Freecycle.
Of course, at this point of my life having a puppy would result in my having a breakdown. :-)

It's such a scary time, and what doesn't help is hearing on the news 24/7 how it's a scary time. I often wonder what it would be like if they totally lied on the news and treated the public like we were all the stars of The Truman Show. Would our economy be in the dumps right now? Would there be all these layoffs? I really do wonder about that. Course, I failed my college Econ class, so what the hell do I know. I worry every day that I'll get laid off b/c I work in a small design & marketing firm and although I've been there for 5 years, I'm the newest person, thereby making me the one to get cut first. I hope the best for you guys, and for all of us.

aw, crap. Maybe just make lots of cookies and the sugar high will get you (or them?) through?

Sorry to hear it's a sucky time for you. I hate how hard this is for everyone.

I hear you.

Logan was laid off? That sucks! So sorry.
I like the puppy idea. They drive you crazy in the beginning making you run around cleaning up their piddle and the shoes they turned into chew toys, hence distracting you from money woes. Then they cuddle with you and are so cute you cannot stay mad at them. The cuddling is comforting when you remember your money woes and need an unconditional cuddle. Try to ignore the shedding hair that sticks to your clothes afterward.

Oh Mankato! And that WHOLE orange in the toe of the stocking. And what was it? Three shiny pennies? Sigh. Love! Love!

I ended up going to college in Mankato! I expected horses and Laura Ingalls running down the dirt road. I got bars and frat boys instead. sigh.

have you guys considered moving to a place where the ad business is better? Seattle, LA, Dallas?
