Back when Max wore pants that fit.
Max refuses to wear pants that fit. He claims ALL the pants I bought him for winter, make his legs look fat.
So instead he's wearing the same pants he wore when I took these videos years and years ago.
And here's another one...you can't see his pants, but trust me he's probably wearing those too.
PS: I want to eat that little guy.

Very surreal...So totally not how I hear your voice sounding in my head.

Oh my gaawwwwddd!!! That sweet little voice!! Wish I'd made more recordings of my daughter talking.
Pants make his legs look fat?? Can't you show him some pictures of the Jonas Brothers and tell him that skinny pants on boys are cool?
No. Wait. Nevermind.

My kiddo has gone on a jeans strike. She'll *only* wear soft pants -- leggings, sweat pants, tights, etc. This involves a lot of her wearing leggings with a skirt over them, and involved an emergency trip to the clearance section of Target to get more leggings because she would not put on any of her other pants.
I can empathize, to an extent because I went on a jeans strike for three years when I was little. But, I didn't realize what a PITA it was for my mom!

My 8 year old has for a couple of years now refused to wear snowpants because they make his legs look fat. They make EVERYONE's legs look fat.. well, except his, because he is a rake.
I have to say it concerns me that he has this body image so young but it doesn't seem to affect anything else so I just let him freeze his butt off. Except today when it's freaking minus a zillion degrees in the Motor City.

Wait until he hits middle school.... seems like all the boys choose pants that are so big they fall down around the ankles. I'm constantly reminding my students to pull up their pants. Ew.

My son recently said "On High School Musical when Troy takes off his shirt you can see his boxers sticking out over his pants. I find that kind of disturbing." Me too, kiddo. (He's eight. And I still want to go buy him that car toy RIGHT NOW!!!!)

Its kids nature. They tend to do what they want. Sometimes it happens they don't even listen. We need to give them what they want.
