Delicious....I Mean....Cute....Cute New Babies!
Just before Max's birthday our friends Rachael and Mike had a couple of babies. A couple of babies, I say like they just grabbed them at 7-11. They had two babies they dreamed about and prayed for hooray! And they're here. I worried about it so I feel like I can take credit for them arriving safe and sound. Except, not really at all.
Still, thank God I worried! Who knows what would have happened!
Oh they're cute. They are so cute. They have tiny fingers and noses and little grunts and tiny legs and little arms. They also like to keep their parent's sleeping at a bare minimum and I appreciate that because I'm psychotic without enough sleep so, hey! Thanks girls. You just, by being normal babies, kept me from regretting that vasectomy.
Listening to Rachael and Mike talk about the babies, they're plowing through. They have perspective on raising newborns (two at once)(!!!) that I was never able to get and as I listened to them talk I thought, "Yep, you guys are going to rule at this part of being parents."
Here's a picture of me with one baby, you'll note my chin is the size of this baby's head. This made it very hard to resist putting her head in my mouth. But Mike had strongly warned me against doing this.
Here's the other baby, pretending to sleep so she didn't have to face the threat of me eating her.
After shopping for kids about 3-6 hours a day, I am overwhelmed by awesome baby gift ideas. I went back to the classic baby shower gifts guide and remembered these spoons I featured months ago. I love that they're personalized, simple, and a usable keepsake.
Lisa Leonard, who makes the spoons and other great pieces of jewelry, contacted me just as I was making my gift decision wondering if she could thank me for featuring her work in the past.
I told her about the new babies, and how I thought her spoons would be the perfect gift for them and so she personally made these little spoons we brought over. They seemed to like them, because they slept the whole time we were there. Only waking up once we left.
They missed the sound of our voices.

AWWWE, Pretty please call me Mike and Rachael to photograph your babies, I'm dying to shoot (with a camera) twins! :)

So tiny and edible. Um, I mean cute. Makes me more excited about the babies my sister-in-law will be having in a few months: twins also, after about 6 years of trying.

Sniff, reminds me of my sweet baby girls (now 11). Gorgeous little babies and the spoons are a great gift. They will no doubt keep them forever.

My boys were under constant threat of cannibalism until they gained a little weight. Now I just threaten to munch their fat thighs off.

You're too sweet, Melissa! And you're correct, they cried when you left. But I must confess, cried a tad ourselves. ;)
Thank you again!!!

I want to eat babies too. I can't figure it out. They're just. so. edible.
Lisa Leonard rocks my socks... I bought myself a "teeny, tiny initials" necklace as an early Mother's Day present, and get about a billion comments a day on it. She's awesome, and I highly recommend shopping there!
