For this giveaway tell me the best concert you ever attended. Your comment is your entry, here are the rules.

Here's mine:

We saw Belly and Radiohead as one of our early dates. I'm not sure it was the music that gave me a tingly happy feeling (since I'm not much of a music person) or the anticipation of Logan kissing me. But either way it was the best concert I've been to.

You can enter until 12am EST Friday August 14. The winner will be selected randomly from the entries and announced later that day.

Thank you to San Disk for sponsoring this giveaway!

Best Concert ever; Phil Collins, sitting on the lawn of an outdoor venue, with my then-date-friend, now-husband. He drove 800 miles to be there that night with me.

And he is still my fave, more than 15 years later.

becky

My college friends and I saw elton john at great woods just before we all went our seperate ways after graduation.

Jenny

I just went to see New Kids on the Block, 20 years after I saw them for the first time, with the same group of girlfriends. What a FUN experience!

Shannon

Dave Matthews puts on an incredible show - definitely my favorite.

Janell

I'm really excited to see Green Day later this month, but my favorite concert was either when I saw Ray Lamontagne perform at The Pageant theatre because the music was amazing or when I saw the Dixie Chicks perform at an arena in Kansas City because I went with my best friend and we had so much fun in our cowboy hats, dancing and singing, from our seats.

Maggie

Oh my gosh! We saw Belly and Radiohead too. At a bar in Boston. It was in the early 90s, I believe, and Radiohead was actually OPENING for Belly. Hard to believe now. The bar was crowded but not so packed that we couldn't get close. We initially were standing on an upper level, about 10 feet above the stage, leaning against a railing. At one point, my friend, Cheryl and I, pushed our way towards the stage as Radiohead finished their set. We got up there just in time for my arm to graze Thom York's arm as they exited. He gazed for what seemed an eternity into my eyes, smiled and nodded once.

Traca

The best concert I have been to is the only one I have attended with my husband. We won free tickets to the Lit concert and HOB's and it was amazing. It opened a whole new genre of music for my husband who was a die hard hair metal kind of guy.

reenie

The best concert ever was when I saw Garth Brooks at the Rosemont Horizon. He puts on a great show & I would see him 100 times. This was the best even though I went with my sister with whom I got into a huge fight after the tickets were purchased but before the show. She told me to never talk to her again EVER and we spent the whole show ignoring each other. A few years later I asked her to be one of my bridesmaids and she's now the coolest aunt ever to my kids. I love her.

Kelly O'Keefe

My favorite concert memory is from the first concert I ever attended. My folks took me to see Smokey Robinson at a grassy, picnic-y venue in the Bay Area. Smokey was awesome and seemed like the embodiment of sex appeal in his leather jumpsuit. About halfway into the concert, his jumpsuit ripped and he had to wear a bath towel sarong for the rest of the show. It was delightful!

Stephanie G

I saw Nirvana and Shonen Knife at the "TNT Building" in Oklahoma City. It was general admission and so we were so close - but not close enough to get bashed by the moshers. Ha. Gosh that was so long ago.

I loved Belly in the 90's. I know made mix tapes with Belly, Radiohead, Nirvana, The Sundays, etc.

Lynne

1988...Amnesty International's tour to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Right...Tracy Chapman, Sting, Peter Gabriel, Bruce Springsteen...still gives me goosebumps!

Torrey

Is it possible to pick the best concert? It is like picking your favorite child. My first thought is u2 at the Boston Garden on St. Patricks day 1991-ish. I was just starting high school and went with my best friends and my cool uncle and lived it up. Although, I have seen Pat Benetar twice within the last 6 years and she brings it with the cuteness and the awesome music. One time, a popular band in New Orleans said my name during a song (as I was working for free for the management as a student) and I felt on top of the world. This is too hard, but so fun to think about!

Kay

Seriously I have NEVER been to a real concert. At 41 I think it's a little bit late now!

sbk

The Tragically Hip in Ohio, late nineties. I drove my brother and friends in my little blue Escort. I made a music mix specifically for the road trip from Ann Arbor. I smoked Canadian cigarettes, since the crowd was 80% Canadian. I sang and I danced. I was young, and I was invincible.

Leslie

U2, Unforgettable Fire tour (1985) in Florida. Just on the cusp of Hitting It BIG-- and it was amazing...

Noelle Buttry

Although hearing Grace Slick live was amazing, I have to give "Best Concert Ever" honors to the Eagles concert I went to a year ago. They are just an incredibly talented group of guys. I almost cried when it ended!

Kate

Bruce Springsteen at Fenway Park in Boston, with my best girlfriends. The first time they had allowed a musical act to sully the ballpark, and it was truly amazing.

Tiffany

I've been to so many concerts and festivals, it's really hard to narrow it down. I guess I'll go with Elvis Costello playing a tiny club in Memphis 3 or 4 years ago. It was standing room only and PACKED (so no dancing), but the bartender let us sit on the bar, so not only did we have a seat, we were elevated so the view was great!

Karin

Possibly not the best concert but the first one I ever went to? Rick Springfield! Still makes me laugh when I think about it.

Amy

Robert Plant and Alison Kraus! What a random combination, but man what an awesome show they put on! :)

Anne

Coldplay - both times I saw them. They were fantastic! They came up into the arena and played acoustic right along side of their fans. I went to both concerts with my fiance - we plan to dance to one of their songs at our wedding.

Cherie

Oh so many its hard to pick just one. Let me go with my earliest concert memory when I saw The Cure back in summer of 1992. i was 18 and my then boyfriend and I snuck our way all the way up to the front row. I saw Robert Smith with his makeup sweating off his face. LOL.

Jesse B

Nickel Creek, love them :)

Catherine

Elvis Costello in a dingy club in Tulsa, right after Veronica came out.

Dani

I'm not much of a concert person. I think for that reason, the most fun I ever had was at an outdoor concert when I was in college, with 2 hilarious guys who had me laughing the whole time. We saw the Lemonheads and Judy Bats. I know...who are they? So much fun though.

Amy

Coldplay in the summer of 2005 at an outside areana.

Jamie

Crowd surfing for the first time at a Smashing Pumpkins concert. Fun.

ana-maria

tragically hip when i was about 15

Christine

U2 Joshua Tree in NJ. My very first concert, and therefore will always be my favorite!

Jenn Bo

Sadly, I have not been to many concerts. But I love the little shows. Bishop Allen @ the Crocodile Cafe was fun.

Danielle

I'm sad to say I'm 24, and have never been to a concert. Having kids young puts a kink in things like that. Someday!

Deena

Unfortunately...I have only been to one concert. I went to a Madonna concert in the early 90s.

Erin

Rolling Stones, for sure. They rocked my world. Other great ones include Joan Baez, Harry Connick Jr., Willie Nelson, Neko Case and Brandi Carlile.

Annabelle

Ditto Rolling Stones. Also: Robert Earl Keene at the Fillmore in Denver a few years back.

Becky

Boys II Men in 6th grade. I actually cried when it was over. I FELT that shit. Man, I was pretty lame.

Kate

It was the Eagles at what was then Gund Areana in Cleveland for the Hell Freezes over tour. Went with my then fiance, now husband and they sang FOREVER!

Susan

The Eagles about two years ago. What a great show.

Kate

It's been YEARS since I went to a concert but some standouts for me include Phil Collins, Tears for Fears, Yanni, Heart, Savage Garden, and Rod Stewart for various reasons.

Jennifer

The best concert I have ever been to was actually quite a surprise. It was held in a little church, and there couldn't be more than 100 people there. It was Mark Schultz (a popular Contemporary Christian Artist). His current CD was "Songs and Stories" and he just sat there at his acoustic piano, playing songs and telling really great and funny stories.

I've been to bigger venues with bigger name singers, but this concert is still my favorite because of the intimacy of the venue. I really felt like I got to know the artist a lot more that way.

Rochelle

Tina Turner! I was in college and took my mom with me and we had a great time.

helmetnona

John Boutte at New Orleans Jazz Fest the year after Hurricane Katrina. I got goosebumps typing that remembering his version of 'Louisiana.'

Kim Smith

The best concert I attended was Aerosmith in 94. It was at this huge pavilion amphitheater where you just wandered around until you found a good spot of grass to sit on.

SBfan!

Big Head Todd opening for the Allman Brothers at Red Rocks Ampitheater outside Denver. I've seen shows all over the country but that location was the best. The location definitely adds to the experiene!

Carrie

John Corigliano's Symphony #1, as part of a performance at one of the MidAmerica Center for Contemporary Music's New Music and Art conferences. I got chills that still come back when I recall it. Love that piece!

Christine

Prince - with Morris Day & The Time as the surprise opening act. A-W-E-S-O-M-E! To add to the evening, my sister-in-law got us into a suite through a friend of hers. Prince, Morris Day & The Time, free beer, and free food? WIN!

Carrie

The best concert I have ever seen was Gavin DeGraw at The Neighborhood Theatre in Charlotte...The venue is awesome...really small and Gavin DeGraw played well over two hours without even pausing for so much as a drink of water...amazing. The second best was when I saw him the next month with Collective Soul. Too fun!

Sunshine

Favorite concert? DMB in college, freshman year, with all my friends. Awesome.

Lori

I grew up in the Upper Peninsula and would go to any concert that came to town (we were desperate for any entertainment!). I think my favorite though was Cheap Trick in roughly the summer of 1988. Great friends, great environment and good music.

Bobbi

OMD in London. Considering the airfare to get to the UK it was also the most expensive concert ever.

Trenches of Mommyhood

Hands down, Pearl Jam in 1995 at an outdoor venue in Charlotte, NC.

Betsy

Billy Joel and Elton John at OSU stadium.

Andrea

Shinedown, which was also an early-relationship date of my current husband. We cuddled and sang and cheered the whole concert.

Anne

Hmm, I'd say that the Tori Amos concert where 1) she performed Damien Rice's "The Blower's Daughter" and 2) my then-girlfriend-now-wife and I exchanged promise rings was my best concert, followed closely by every outdoor Indigo Girls concert I've been to.

Dawn

Elton John/Billy Joel the first time they toured together was definitely one of the best for me...Elton singing "Don't Let the Sun Go Down On Me" as the sun was setting was pretty freaking awesome.

Shelly

Thompson Twins at the Hollywood Bowl in 1984! AWESOME MEMORIES!

abi

Okay, showing my music-school-geek cred: Cleveland Orchestra doing Mahler 5, on the lawn at Blossom Music Center, 1999. And now I will slink off and hum to myself quietly in the corner.

c l

Best concert - collective soul with a group of high school friends. The venue was small, which made it even better.

christa

I went to a John Mayer concert last summer with my husband. It wasn't the music so much as the fact that we were sitting in lawn chairs, with the stars above and our toes in the grass.

nelking

Grateful Dead concert in Eugene, Oregon in 1988. This is where I met my husband. He had a date that day. I was riding in the back of his car with a few others. Yet, I knew he was the one. I was very patient and persistent.

Kristen

Dave Matthews Band, in highschool, with a bunch of girlfriends and smuggled beer. Fun!

Katie

Best show ever? Just one? It would have to be the Flaming Lips show at the Oklahoma City Zoo, where Wayne Coyne debuted the spaceship he'd been building in his backyard. It was unreal. It almost made you forget that you were in OKLAHOMA.

MarthaB

This may not have been the best...but certainly the most memorable. George Michael, my senior year. A friend knew my obsession and took me. My parents were very strict so I had to fib and say we were going to a jazz festival. :-) It was so awesome. One of my best memories EVER!

Eleanor

October 2008. Echo and the Bunnymen at Radio City Music Hall. Played their album Ocean Rain accompanied by an orchestra. Only US date on the tour. Seated only 15 rows from stage. Asked husband if he would be mad if I yelled out "I love you Ian McCulloch!" He just looked at me strangely.
I guess it was all the pent up excitement since I had never seen them live and been listening since the mid 80's. 24 years (and a $10 gin and tonic) = one giddy, silly, sing a longing, tummy tingling, dancing in the very small space in front of my seat kind of fool.
And I enjoyed every minute of it.
And now totally jealous of you that you've seen Radiohead.

Elizabeth

I've been to a bunch of really great concerts, but I think one of the best was Video Games Live! this year. It was the Pittsburgh Symphony (the only american orchestra to play for the pope in rome) playing a bunch of video game themes. It was really impressive, although I kind of wanted to smack the other people in the audience. (A close second is a Mahler symphony I caught in NYC a couple years ago - just so nobody thinks I'm lame.)

Sharon

I saw Fleetwood Mac which has been my favourite group since I was 3 and used to sing along with Rumors on the Telefunken. My boyfriend (now husband) didn't even know who they were and bought me tickets for my 17th birthday. It was awesome!

Donna

Lyle Lovett and his Big Band. Excellent. The best ever.

Janssen

I went to a Ryan Shupe concert with my college boyfriend since his brother was the drummer and he said he'd left us tickets at the ticket booth. When we got the tickets, they said Row 1 and we were all "SWEET!" and then when we went to go sit down, we realized it was Row 1 of the second section and because the second section was almost completely closed off, we were the VERY LAST row.

Alexa

Lincoln Park...first time I cuddled and danced with my hubby to be.

Cate

There have been so many good ones.. saw Naked Raygun, Pegboy, Violent Femmes, the Pixies and so many other shows at small venues as a teenager; had an experience just like Cherie with the Cure 92 tour; was about 12 inches away from Morrissey in a dive bar; did a road trip to see Pearl Jam 4 times in 4 days. The very best, though, was a Cursive show. We had arrived early to the general admission show to catch a table in the balcony because we're too old for weeknight concerts. Gretta Cohn was rocking on the cello and I exchanged smiles with my sweetie and somehow knew I was finally ready to get married. Apparently he felt the same because I had a lovely ring by the next weekend.

Rachel K

I saw Pink Martini a few years ago at the Hollywood Bowl and I thought my face was going to explode from smiling so much. The music and performances were amazing. For their finale they played Bolero and had stilt walkers and circus clowns dancing around the stage and giant balls of fire shooting out from the top of the bowl!

Brenda

Best concert was James Taylor at the Garden State Arts Center before it was licensed by the bank. I was there with a couple of friends and it was really nice, relaxing on a warm evening stretched out on the lawn and listening to live music.

Karen

Crosby Stills Nash and Young high school 1970

danish

Crash Test Dummies, mid 1994 when they had one hit, remember Mmmm Mmmmm Mmmm Mmmm? Their album was great. Obviously wasn't sold out so we had good seats up front and I really felt like the lead singer was singing right to me, our eyes were locked all nite. So awesome.

Cicely

Foo Fighters at the Pantages for their accoustic tour. Every Foo Fighters concert I've been to has been spectacular.

Cassie

I have a very hard time picking just one. Probably Mark Knopfler at the Hard Rock Las Vegas, because that man is amazing and has a gift from God. I don't generally recommend concerts in Las Vegas, though. It's a weird crowd.

Tom Petty at the United Center about two years ago was also truly awesome.

Sarah Jean

Last year I went to an Ani Difranco concert at the State Theater - I was in the second row and it was awesome. :)

Kelly

Prince. Hands down - best live performer ever.

Shannon Warren

My friend Lee Anne and I went to see Jimmy Buffett. We were tipsy off of boxed wine when we got there, then she forgot to get a wristband so she could buy beer so we had to, shall we say, convince the guys behind us to get it for us. Then we forgot which satellite parking lot her car was in, I ran into a string of construction barrels on the way home and lost my $20 at the Waffle House. She had to go to her husband's family reunion the next day. I am pretty sure the concert was awesome...Buffett always puts on a good show....

Krys

It's funny - any Dan Fogelberg concert I went to was my favorite, and the U2 concerts (2 in one weekend during the Joshua Tree tour were outstanding!), but the one that immediately came to mind?
Up with People at the Garden State Arts Center sometime during the '70s with my 7th grade class. It was the first concert I ever attended, and I can still "see" the show in my mind's eye!

Diana

Madonna, junior year of high school. School night, no parents, early chem lab the next morning. It was awesome.

Laura B.

My husband (boyfriend at the time) had a work event in Hawaii (I know, life is hard sometimes) and the company flew in Aerosmith for a concert. It was only for about 1000 people. I'm not a huge Aerosmith fan, but with that few people and being in Hawaii, it was awesome.

Robin (noteverstill)

Though I'm not much of a deadhead, seeing the Grateful Dead in Buffalo in the early '90s was the best show ever. The crowd was so vibrant. We climbed on a portapotty roof to get a better view. We were there for nine hours.

Becs

Belle & Sebastian, at the Greek Theater in the fall of 2003, with my little brother. :)

Amye

George Strait - I touched his hand!

rebecca

Jonatha Brooke at the Ark in Ann Arbor last winter. Got a rare evening breal from my 6-mos-old daughter, and a much anticipated date with my husband. So what if he fell asleep an hour in? We were really there for me, and I was captivated and sang along to every song.

Louise

I can't choose between sneaking into a club to see the Tragically Hip (in the early 90s, when I was well below legal age) and a later Blue Rodeo/Great Big Sea concert (Los Lobos opened. No one knew any of their songs except for La Bamba).

Valerie

Ohhh I could talk about this for days. I didn't even enter your first 2 giveaways but I will for this one just because it's about music. ;)

Best concert experience: Oasis at Madison Square Garden, summer 2005. Past their peak? Perhaps, but there's something about being in an arena with 20,000 people singing "Don't Look Back in Anger" that was a borderline spiritual experience.

Lyndsay

Dave Matthews - first concert ever put on at Comerica Park ... FANTASTIC!

Mary

when I was 14, I went to see Van Halen with a girlfriend and her mom. We had excellent floor seats. The guy next to me chain-smoked marijuana the entire concert. I was so high driving home that I stuck my head out the window and sang the entire concert over. Pretty memorable!

Maureen

I was going to say the same U2 concert on St. Patrick's Day in Boston (it was 1992) that Torrey mentioned. I think that was the tour that the Pixies opened for them. Anyway, it was the best, loudest concert I have ever been to. They played lots of extra songs, and the drummer shook my hand and sang a Pogues song ("Dirty Old Town"). Ok, I'm a geek, but it was incredible!

Holly

Just went to see Colin Hay (of Men at Work fame, but now solo) at The Ark in Ann Arbor this summer! Probably the best concert I've ever been to! May have been the venue's influence... If you ever get the chance to see someone at The Ark - DO IT!!! AWESOME!

Dawn

I love going to concerts and before we had kids, we used to see a lot of live shows (plus, Dave Matthews Band played in the town where I went to college every other week, so we saw them all the time). The best show I've ever seen is a toss up, though, between a Springsteen concerts (bought the tickets from a girl we met at an REM concert, paid $700 for 2- same price she paid the broker, and it was worth every penny) or a Natalie Merchant concert somewhere in MD (my husband bought the tickets from a broker, and we drove there after a long rehearsal for a show I was playing, not sure we were going to make it in time, but we got there and the tickets were in the 2nd row and she was talking to the audience directly in front of her the whole night).

The Bug

Oh wow - I really am a geek (& not a cool music one either). I only ever went to concerts with my mom & her friend Sue (think "Lucy & Ethel do Charlotte"). So I got to see folks like Roger Whitaker & Kenny Rogers. I guess my favorite was one of the Kenny Rogers ones - it was the "Islands in the Stream" tour, only Dolly was sick so we got Connie Francis. I was pretty impressed... I think Sawyer Brown opened for that show - I was in love!

Allison

Best concert ever was definitely Beck in 1996. The man reallllly knows how to dance and put on a show. I was only 14 but a few years later and I would have thrown my underwear on stage.. maybe

Amanda

Peter Gabriel. I've been a huge fan of his music for years, but seeing him in person added an entirely new level to his music. He had a ton of gadgets that made his performance a real "show" rather than watching a guy on stage singing.

Amanda

Hard to decide which is my favorite, so I will let you choose...
Paul McCartney, with my dad and uncle- my 25th, Dad's 50th, and Uncle's 55th birthdays. I have always been a big Beatles fan, thanks to them, and it was very cool to see a man whose music had made such a difference in all of our lives, together. Not to mention, Sir Paul rocked.

Lyle Lovett and Robert Earl Keen, former Texas Aggie roommates and friends, Bonfire Benefit Concert just after the Collapse of the Texas A&M Bonfire that hit our school so hard in 1999. They traded songs, played together, and did an outstanding job of bringing together a hurting community- all becuase, as we say, "Aggies take care of Aggies."

Kristin

I've been to some amazing shows with my music-fanatic husband, but the one that sticks out in my mind is the most recent-- The Decemberists playing our new-to-us city, Indianapolis, last weekend. They were SO fun. They played their latest album straight through (full-on fairytale storyline) with two amazing female guest-singers who got very into their witch/princess parts. Colin Meloy was absolutely charming during their less-dramatic encore set, and the two girls sang their hearts out covering Heart's Crazy On You with the band rocking out behind them. It was fantastic.

Amy

How I love concerts....

I think my favorite would be a tie between Phish at the Target Center in 1999 and Bon Jovi and the Excel just a couple of years ago.

Calee

Best concert-- U2 in Dublin with my husband and our Irish friends. Also, the opening act, an Irish singer/songwriter named Paddy Casey was fantastic.

Bust concert vibes-- the night I snuck into the local outdoor amphitheater with a high school friend to see No Doubt--we got the nights wrong and saw Sting instead. Still fun.

Jessie

Weezer and Foo Fighters were touring together, and it was the most fun I've ever had at a concert. They played all their old stuff, and my husband and I reminisced about what we were doing when those songs came out. So much fun!
