Young Logan, Without "The Hair"
I've been sitting outside in the sun totally nude for the last day, because it was 70 degrees out and it just felt like the only way to respond. I may have waited until we put the patio furniture out or, at the very least, got all the pine needles off the deck. They don't feel all that good in your arse if you were wondering.
[I wasn't really outside nude. FYI.]
Maddie and Max were out visiting my in laws a few weeks ago (with Logan, of course) and they gave us a few more pictures of Logan as a kid. I don't have many of these pictures and the one I do have, as a reminder:
Kind of makes me wonder how he ended up looking so incredibly handsome in the end.
But these latest shots I can totally see it and it makes me feel a little Mary Kay Letourneau.
I kind of picture Logan wearing athletic shorts (with the white trim), tube socks and Pony's while skateboarding to school in Napa, CA. (He really did skateboard to school in Napa but I'm not sure his parents allowed him to wear athletic shorts to school since they didn't allow jeans.)
It's creepy that this picture makes me want to jump my husband when he gets home tonight isn't it? I thought so. Sorry God.
This is Logan in 1982. In 1982 I was 9 years old. Logan was 14 years old.
Who's robbing the cradle now? Oh, right....this is all in my own sick and twisted mind.

Soooo very happy to know I am not the only gal who gets a little 'excited' when I see boyhood pics of my hubby !

Um, I don't want to upset you...but in that second picture (on the yellow couch) I think he looks a lot like Max.
Not that your husband looking like your son would upset you...but the WAY you were looking at it. Well, nevermind.
Logan's pretty sexy, bottom line.

Yeah when Max is 12 I'm going to have to bleach my eyeballs or something. Or at least keep his hair shorter....I don't know.
OH GREAT.

my mother-in-law gave me some polaroids of my husband, taken when he was 17 or so...long hair, uber-skinny, tan, and shirtless. rawr. it makes me feel so naughty to think of my husband as a hot little high-schooler

Wait, I'm confused. No jeans but a t-shirt with BOURBON on it? Or were they supporters of the French royal family?
Posted by: clare | 2010.03.31 at 09:43 PM
bourbon street! And it wasn't at school.

what's possibly even more disturbing is i thought that picture looked like maddie. sorry for that.
but yes i have the hots for the teenage version of my husband too, and he looked just like daniel radcliffe so i have really inappropriate harry potter related fantasies. but hey, i was 6 the year he graduated from high school! my husband that is. *sigh*

For Christmas this year, my mother gave me a framed photo of my husband at 21. In uniform. He'd just entered the Army. It makes me feel a little icky to say it, but rawr.

He was of age!

That's kinda the way I feel when I watch Jason Bateman in old episodes of Silver Spoons...kinda skeezy, but day-um, he's a hottie.

Luckyyyyy. My husband went through an unfortunate Napoleon Dynamite phase, so no fantasies about that era:

At least he's pretty good with a bow staff and caught me an awesome bass.

How lucky you are to get those photos. My husband is the youngest of six and photos of him are few and far between. Last time we visited them, I took pictures of his ONE baby picture with my phone. However, we did get the negative of his mulleted senior picture, so that can live in infamy.

WOW! Can you ever see a resemblance between Maddie and Logan in that second picture Love the hair in photo #1, very Jon BonJovi'ish

This isn't as creepy and stalkerish as it sounds, but I once saw you and your fam at Panera, later learning from your blog that you were en route home from a trip to Chicago (where we live), and turned to my boyfriend to say, "hey - that's the author of a blog I read!" He replied, "Her husband's a good looking guy." ... Not that you were looking for more validation, but there you have it from a dude who could be described as a hipster with a major obsession with his own looks, who rarely doles out such a compliment to anyone else.

What I think is admirable is that you were able to see past that mullet, and were then rewarded with the smokin' hot silver-fox husband. Good job.

Oh my gosh, he looks like Peter Brady in that last pic!
Posted by: Jess | 2010.04.01 at 11:52 AM
Crazy hair! I can hardly believe the first one.
Posted by: Alesya | 2010.04.01 at 12:33 PM
Oh man, I can't believe how much the kids look like him! I always think Maddie looks like a mix of you & me, but seeing those photos makes me realize there's none of me there... sniff...

So I'm supposed to feel bad for thinking the boyfriend of the daughter on that new "Parenthood" show is hot? Because I totally don't feel bad about it. That kid looks just like my high school boyfriend, who I lost my, um, never mind. But, rawr is right. Plus, Jesus, that mullet just kills me.

Oh my gosh. I have such a dreamboat photo of my husband in high school in the mid eighties in a baseball style T as fire marshall of his class. I think I would have pulled that alarm just to be reprimanded by him.

um, hello! i think it's awesome that you are still in love with your husband. it's getting harder these days to find people who are still in love and want to be together. so much stress just from daily life can really do a number on a marriage, so it's great to see that attraction can still outlast all of life's annoyances. i think it's sweet:)

Was Logan rockin' a perm is photo number 1? Love it!

Liked the pics, the weather seems lovely cool, and that tint in the pics is outstanding. Allover, artistic photography.

No perm, all natural!

You raise an interesting but not-often-if-ever discussed point: finding childhood pictures of your spouse hot. I do the same thing but always feel a little like I should be listed on some criminal registry somewhere. Maybe we should keep family photo albums on the nightstand!

That first picture is hysterical!
Did anyone look good in school pictures in the 80's?
Posted by: Coma Girl | 2010.04.02 at 03:21 PM
Looks sooo much like Maddie it's unbelievable!
Posted by: dayna | 2010.04.02 at 08:15 PM
That first picture of Logan absolutely cracks me up. So much hair!!
